Depending on individual preference, two new control units are also available for immediate delivery from Krone, Standard or De-Luxe. Added to this, different axle versions are also available: for example, single axle up to 40km/h and tandem axle up to 50 or 65 km/h. Tire sizes are available up to 22.5 inches. Fitted as standard across the new range are crop guide rollers, implementation can be as a simple or as a twin knotter.
Alongside the new X-Cut range, Krone offers the Big Pack VFS with the well-proven Raffer system. At Agritechnica 2003, Krone introduced the new Big Pack, a revolutionary large pack press, which can compress both large and small bales.
Revolutionary technology from Krone - Multi-functional Big Pack for large and small bales.
Farmers and horse breeders have been waiting for this for a long time. Thanks to revolutionary large-pack techniques from Krone, large bales can now be subdivided when compressing and spread around the stall in conveniently handled small bales. As the first large baling press in the world, the new Krone Big Pack with multi-bale function offers the option of compressing traditional large bales or subdividing large bales to contain up to six small bales.
This is how it operates: The BigPack 1270 is equipped with a conventional double knotting system with six knots. New, however, is the split needle wing: Both needle wings can be operated independently of each other. An electrically driven pawl couples or decouples both wings.
Knots 1, 3, 4 and 6 are operated by the first needle wing. This wing binds up the complete large bale as usual. The second needle wing operates knots 3 and 5. To pack away the small bales, the two needle wings are decoupled; in this case the second wing operates exclusively. In this way, several small bales can be bound within a normal large bale (max. 2.7 m in length). The size of the small bales can be continuously varied between 0.4 and 1.35 meters by using a manual rotating adjuster.
To compress conventional large bales, the driver simply couples the two wings together by pressing a button in the towing cabin. All six knotters now operate synchronously and bind together only complete, large bales.
With this new Multi-bale process, Krone has produced an innovative solution, which offers distinct advantages over conventional large baling techniques. From now on, the large heavy bales can be handled manually – the requirement for front loaders or other special techniques is no longer necessary. In restricted areas, the handling and storage of the smaller bale portions is trouble-free. Operators of smaller agricultural holdings and operations with narrow stalls and feeding passageways, especially equine operations, can now be particularly pleased. With the new Krone System, the feed units arrive in the correct proportions directly from the field.
