LAMMA 2012 has fast become the most exciting shop window for UK farm machinery businesses and the Show this year sees Amazone Ltd launch yet more exciting new products. These encompass the full spectrum of the product portfolio including fertilisation, seeding and cultivation. Based again on the one main outdoor stand, space is always at a premium as working widths get wider and kit generally gets bigger but the newcomers will feature heavily amongst the existing models.
2012 is Amazone’s Silver Jubilee year for precision seeders. Since its launch 25 years ago, nobody would have comprehended the overwhelming success of the Amazone ED maize drill. Built like a brick outhouse with the contractor in mind, the ED offers an excellent level of seeding precision at speeds of up to 10 km/h and professional forage contractors use them to their benefit with its low running cost, simplicity of operation, flexibility on seed varieties and the maximised outputs.

Still on the seeding front, LAMMA 2012 will see the new CAYENA 6001-C makes its debut. The CAYENA has seen major sales since its introduction at Cereals 2010 and now this year, the grain and fertiliser version will be on display. With an increased hopper size and a 60:40 split in the hopper the machine can be used for both seed only or seed and fertiliser with the fertiliser being applied down the same pipe as the seed into the one furrow. This increases the usage of the CAYENA for rape establishment either in a min-till scenario or for direct sowing.
For fertilisation, the new ZA-M Special Profis weigh-cell spreader, with working widths up to 36m, a payload of 2100 kg and hopper sizes up to 2000 litres is ideal for the progressive farmer looking at a three bag spreader yet with all the toys. The AMATRON+ in-cab controller, with its standard RS232 socket for full GPS terminal compatibility and simple on-line calibration, offers the ultimate in accurate fertiliser spreading without the cost associated with the bigger machines.
Expanding Amazone’s range of small seed applicators, the GreenDrill is now available for folding cultivators and at LAMMA 2012 the drill will be seen on a folding 4m Catros+ TS with bogey axle.
Of course, with Amazone’s importance in the crop protection market, no LAMMA would be complete without the full sprayer range where the line-up includes the PANTERA 4001 self-propelled sprayer, the trailed UX4200 Super with 36m boom and a combination of UF mounted sprayer and integrated FT front tank, the first of its kind to offer FLOWCONTROL, a fully automated rear mounted tank with electronically controlled circulation and filling system from the front.
