Amazone Groundcare on show again at BTME
04 March 2010 Amazone Groundcare saw very encouraging enquires during their return to BTME in Harrogate this year. With the unique zero-turn Profihopper along with a Groundkeeper tractor mounted flail mower collector then not only did scarifying cricket squares and verti-cutting outfields, management of wild flower and environmental areas figure in many conversations but so did the positive effect on reliability and cost control offered by both flail type machines. BTME also gave the opportunity to talk to Local Authority Parks and Open Spaces Management, Contractors as well as Schools and Sports Facility staff. It's probably not surprising that many of the processes undertaken by differing organisations share very similar machinery requirements.
Most visitors were looking forward to the start of the growing season, but perhaps not to some of the budget constraints that may have to be considered, the need for multifunction, reliable machinery seemed very important. Lush grass was only the starting point – bulb material, leaf collection, heather regeneration and scarifying came close behind .
Another interesting discussion point was the rejuvenation of playing surfaces and other green spaces. ‘Can we repair what we have’ rather than start all over again would seem to make a lot of sense when you think about it.
The Amazone GNK Overseeding Combination is spot on in this respect. With a low tractor HP requirement and the gentle scissor action from its sprung Overseeder tine bars; it’s a simple job to create a seed bed – but without disturbing the existing plants. Then with the easily calibrated ‘curtain pattern’ seed box mounted on its rear roller you have a real one pass operation. That’s why we call them Combination Units – cultivate, calibrated seed placement, a gentle roll to help germination all in one pass.
