17 May 2010

See us on:
Post Harvest Technology - stand 248 for drilling, cultivating and spreading
Sprays & Sprayers - stand 1130 for spraying systems

"More with less" is the theme from Amazone at Cereals 2010 and this will encompass both cultivation and drilling equipment designed to give more output with less input as well as spreaders and sprayers.

Exhibited on stand 248:
Will be the new Cirrus Special trailed cultivator drill with a new profile depth limiter disc fitted for better coulter carrying ability which enables us to go at faster forward speeds with less bounce and so improved planting depth control and less wear and tear but more output. At 12.5cm row spacing the single disc RoTeC+ coulter, with 50kg of coulter pressure just on the disc alone, maintains the optimum plant spacing for maximum yield without the fear of blockages caused by double disc type coulters with depth control wheels on the back.
Mr. James Seabridge will also be presented with his prize of the use of this Cirrus Special for the season in a competition held in conjunction with Famers Weekly last month.

Also, on the cultivation side, the Centaur Super tine & disc cultivator, the new generation Cenius Super mulch cultivator and the new trailed Catros 6001-2T compact disc harrow will be on show. The idea with the Catros-T is a lower horsepower requirement as the machine is carried on the road, and on the headland turn, on a rear bogey axle which comes over centre for work in the field putting additional weight onto the cultivation discs aiding penetration. These will be available in a 4, 5 or 6m working width. The machine on display will be in Catros+ mode featuring the 510mm scalloped discs for additional depth and improved penetration.

Also making their debut at Royston on the drilling side, the Cayena 6001 now with a bigger seed hopper (3600 litres) will be on show and also, fixed in combination to an AD-P Special pneumatic seed drill, the new KX rotary cultivator. The KX rotary cultivator comes in 3m only and is aimed at farmers and growers who need the 'on-grip' tine configuration for min-till, hence the designation 'cultivator' rather than 'harrow', but do not have huge tractors. The main gearbox is rated up to 190hp although the trough's guts are used on the 300hp folding 6m, this new gearbox keeps down the cost and gives the direct into stubble possibility at prices of £1145 cheaper than the corresponding KG range. however, it is still built like a brick outhouse. All the five power harrow and rotary cultivator series will feature the new Long-Life-Drive system

Exhibited on stand 1130:
Around the Sprays and Sprayers ring, will be seen for the first time in Great Britain the SX 4000 self-propelled sprayer: with its 36m boom and 4000 litre tank the SX is over for evaluation of the UK self-propelled market before being offered for sale in 2011.
Alongside the SX will be the Dropleg nozzle system, developed in conjunction with Syngenta and Lechler for the underneath spraying in specialist vegetable and potato crops. On show is also one of the face lifted range of UX trailed sprayers; now designated either the UX Special or the UX Super. Tank capacities have been increased by roughly 5% plus the addition of the new top of the range UX6200. The main differences on the UX Super is the improved valving system which increases filling speeds to around 800 l/min for faster turn round times and reduces the sprayer residual volumes; we will be showing a new UX4200 Super 28m in the ring.

As always, Amazone are at the forefront of technology and across the whole of the event we will be strongly promoting precision farming with Distance-Control automatic boom height on sprayer booms, GPS-Switch auto-boom and spreader shut-off, hydraulic spreading disc drive, compatibility with all and sundry variable rate application systems with the AMADOS+ entry level variable rate technology from just £1835 on top of a basic fertiliser spreader price.

We look forward to meeting you on either Stand 248 or on Stand 1130, even if it just for Amazone scale models and clothing!
